On a pre-owned e-gravel bike, start with the frame, checking around the head tube, bottom bracket, chainstays and dropouts for cracks or impact marks. Ask about the motor and battery: their age, range and charge cycles, and confirm the system powers on and runs through its assist modes. Because gravel bikes see rough use, check the drivetrain, brakes, wheels and tyres for wear. Confirm the frame size and that any mounts suit your riding.
