Lapierre mountain bike size guide: Zesty, Spicy, XR and Prorace
Lapierre's mountain range spans four very different jobs: the Prorace cross country hardtail, the XR full suspension cross country racer, the Zesty trail all rounder and the Spicy enduro bike. Travel and attitude change a lot across that spread, but the number that decides your fit stays the same, and that is reach for your height. Get reach right and the rest of the cockpit falls into place. Browse the full lineup in the Lapierre collection.
Please note. These recommendations are indicative, not a guarantee of fit. Body proportions, riding style and terrain all matter, and on mountain bikes personal preference for a playful or planted feel shifts sizing too. Treat the table below as a starting point and confirm against the exact bike.
Quick size finder
| Rider height | Leg length (inseam) | Prorace (XC hardtail) | XR (XC full sus) | Zesty (trail) | Spicy (enduro) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 155 to 165 cm | 69 to 75 cm | S | S | S | XS |
| 163 to 173 cm | 74 to 80 cm | S | S | S | S |
| 171 to 181 cm | 79 to 85 cm | M | M | M | M |
| 178 to 188 cm | 83 to 89 cm | L | L | L | L |
| 186 to 196 cm | 88 to 94 cm | XL | XL | XL | XL |
On mountain bikes, sizing down gives a more playful, flickable ride and sizing up gives more high speed stability. The Spicy adds an XS for the shortest riders; the other three start at S.
How to measure yourself
Height. Stand against a wall without shoes, feet together, and mark the top of your head. Measure from the floor to the mark.
Leg length (inseam). Stand with your back to the wall and place a book spine up between your legs, snug against your body as a saddle would sit. Measure from the top of the book to the floor. This number drives standover clearance and saddle height, which matter most on technical terrain.
Prorace (cross country hardtail)
Lapierre's lightweight carbon XC hardtail, tuned for a touch of compliance. Efficient and precise, happiest when you are covering ground fast.

The full suspension XC racer, 120 mm of travel front and rear on 29 inch wheels. Modern and capable for a race bike, with a flip chip to adjust the attitude.
Geometry (official where confirmed)
| Size | Stack (mm) | Reach (mm) | Rider height |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | confirm with dealer | 420 | 163 to 173 cm |
| M | confirm with dealer | approx 445 * | 171 to 181 cm |

* Reach runs from 420 mm (S) to 495 mm (XL) and size L stack is 607 mm, all official. The M reach is interpolated and per size stack for S, M and XL should be confirmed against Lapierre's current spec, as the flip chip position also shifts these figures slightly.
Zesty (trail)
The all round trail bike, roughly 150 mm front and 140 mm rear. A balanced climber and descender that suits most days on most trails.
Geometry (official)
| Size | Stack (mm) | Reach (mm) | Rider height |

Figures are from the current generation Zesty AM carbon geometry. Confirm against the exact model and model year, since alloy and e-Zesty variants differ.
Spicy (enduro)
The aggressive enduro bike, around 170 mm front and 160 mm rear, with an adjustable high and low pivot design. Built to stay composed when the trail points steeply down.
Geometry (official)

| L | 645 | 485 | 178 to 188 cm |
| XL | 654 | 505 | 186 to 196 cm |
Figures are from the current generation Spicy CF geometry. The 2 in 1 pivot and any flip chip setting can shift the numbers, so confirm against the exact build.
What Lapierre riders find
Across the mountain range Lapierre sizing runs fairly true, with reach jumps of roughly 25 mm between sizes that make it easy to place yourself by height. The Prorace and XR reward riders who like an efficient, stretched race position, so those between sizes who want to climb hard often size up, while trail and enduro riders on the Zesty and Spicy tend to prefer the smaller frame for a more playful, chuckable feel. The Spicy's adjustable pivot and the XR's flip chip mean both bikes can be nudged toward a calmer or livelier character without changing size, so set the frame to your height first and fine tune from there.
Between two sizes?
If you fall between two sizes, favour the smaller frame for a more manoeuvrable, playful ride, especially on the Zesty and Spicy. Choose the larger frame if you prioritise stability at speed or want a longer, more efficient position for cross country on the XR and Prorace, and you have the reach for it. When in doubt, match the reach figure to a mountain bike you already ride well.
