Sizing a Gusto road bike

Gusto's current road range splits neatly into three characters: the Cobra Evo DB for lightweight, lively climbing and all round racing, the Duro Evo DB for aero speed on flat and rolling roads, and the GTR for relaxed, stable endurance miles. All three share the same six size steps, XS to XL, so the single most useful thing to know is this: Gusto road frames follow a familiar road sizing pattern, and because most Gusto frames are built to order, small fit tweaks are often possible before the frame is made.

Please note. These sizes are a starting point, not a guarantee. They are indicative and meant to get you close; the right size depends on your proportions, flexibility and riding style. Gusto is a smaller Taiwanese brand and does not publish a full rider height chart for every model, so where official heights are missing we have estimated the bands from geometry and flagged them. Treat those as a guide and confirm with us before buying.

How to measure yourself

Height. Stand barefoot with your back against a wall, heels together, and look straight ahead. Rest a flat book on your head, level against the wall, mark the wall at the top edge, then measure from the floor to the mark.

Leg length (inseam). Barefoot, feet about 15 cm apart, press a hardback book up into your groin as if it were a saddle. Keep it level, mark where the spine meets the wall, and measure from the floor to that mark. This inseam figure drives standover and saddle height more than your overall height does.

Cobra Evo DB (lightweight race and climbing)

The Cobra Evo DB is Gusto's lightweight all rounder: a snappy climber with confident, neutral handling and a race position that stays usable on long rides. Available in 6 sizes, XS to XL. The rider heights below are Gusto's own published recommendations.

Fit character: a lively lightweight climber with neutral, confident handling; a race feel that never turns punishing.

Duro Evo DB (aero and high speed)

The Duro Evo DB is the aero option, with truncated airfoil tube profiles built for flat terrain, rolling hills and fast group riding. It runs a slightly longer and lower feel than the Cobra at the same size. Available in 6 sizes, XS to XL. Rider heights here are estimated by Bikeroom from geometry, since Gusto does not publish a height chart for this model.

Fit character: planted and fast, a touch longer and lower in feel, happiest in fast groups and on rolling terrain.

GTR (endurance and long days)

The GTR is Gusto's endurance frame: a longer wheelbase for stability when you tire late in a ride, generous tyre clearance and a slightly taller front end for a more relaxed position. It carries the most stack of the three at each size. Available in 6 sizes, XS to XL. Fit character: upright and stable, with a taller front end and longer wheelbase for comfortable all day endurance riding.

What Gusto riders find

Gusto is a smaller Taiwanese carbon specialist, so there are fewer published owner reviews than for the big global brands, and full geometry charts are not always public. The feedback that does exist is consistent: riders rate the frames as excellent value, with a ride quality and finish that punch above the price, and they like that most frames are built to order so fit can be dialled in before production. The practical takeaway for sizing is that the size steps behave predictably, so if you already know your fit numbers from another road bike they translate cleanly here.

Between two sizes?

If you land between two sizes, let your riding style and flexibility decide. Size down for a sportier, more responsive position and a lower front end, which suits the Cobra Evo DB and Duro Evo DB and riders with good flexibility. Size up for more comfort and stability, which suits the GTR and longer days in the saddle. Your inseam and the saddle to bar drop you are comfortable with matter more than height alone, and because most Gusto frames are built to order it is always worth a quick word with us before you decide.
