Sizing a Giant gravel bike
Giant's gravel range now offers two clearly different personalities under the Revolt name. The new Revolt Advanced SL is a long and low race bike, while the continuing Revolt Advanced, the alloy Revolt and the suspension equipped Revolt X keep the taller, more relaxed endurance geometry. All share one rider height ladder, and all bar the alloy version include Giant's genuinely useful M/L size, which tidies up the in-between zone where riders usually straddle Medium and Large. Sizing is by height and reach; the SL just feels racier at the same nominal size.

Please note. These sizes are a starting point, not a guarantee, and Giant's height bands overlap so you can choose by feel. On a gravel bike reach preference and terrain matter alongside height, and a fit check settles any doubt.
Quick size finder
Find your height, cross check your inside leg, and read across to the Revolt size. It applies across the range; the alloy Revolt starts at S rather than XS.
| Rider height | Leg length (inseam) | Giant Revolt size |
|---|---|---|
| 152 to 165 cm | 68 to 76 cm | XS |
| 159 to 171 cm | 74 to 80 cm | S |
| 169 to 181 cm | 79 to 85 cm | M |
| 174 to 186 cm | 82 to 88 cm | M/L |
| 179 to 191 cm | 85 to 91 cm | L |
| 189 to 200 cm | 90 to 97 cm | XL |
If you are around 174 to 186 cm, the M/L is usually the sweet spot. Within an overlap, pick smaller for a racier, quicker feel or larger for reach and stability.
How to measure yourself
Height. Stand barefoot against a wall, heels together, and measure to the top of your head.
Leg length (inseam). Barefoot, feet about 15 cm apart, press a book up to the wall like a saddle and measure floor to spine.
Then use reach. The three platforms sit very differently at the same size, so compare the reach below with a bike you like to decide which suits you.
Revolt Advanced SL (gravel race)
The new Revolt Advanced SL is the long, low, weight forward race bike, the sportiest Revolt yet, with an integrated cockpit and no flip chip. The front end sits markedly lower than the endurance Revolt, so expect a real change if you are coming off the older bike.
| Frame size | XS | S | M | M/L | L | XL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stack (mm) | 528 | 540 | 556 | 572 | 587 | 601 |
| Reach (mm) | 387 | 387 | 395 | 399 | 405 | 415 |
| Rider height | 152 to 165 | 159 to 171 | 169 to 181 | 174 to 186 | 179 to 191 | 189 to 200 |
Only the size M is confirmed from Giant; the other SL sizes apply the confirmed M shift and are best verified on Giant's official chart. The integrated cockpit makes later stem or bar changes costly, so get the fit right at purchase.
Revolt Advanced and Revolt alloy (endurance)
The continuing carbon Revolt Advanced and the alloy Revolt share the tall, relaxed endurance geometry, with a flip chip for stability and tyre clearance, D-Fuse bar and post for comfort, and downtube storage. This is the versatile all rounder that fits taller and longer torso riders especially well.
| Frame size | XS | S | M | M/L | L | XL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stack (mm) | 556 | 570 | 586 | 602 | 616 | 630 |
| Reach (mm) | 381 | 381 | 387 | 391 | 397 | 407 |
| Rider height | 152 to 165 | 159 to 171 | 169 to 181 | 174 to 186 | 179 to 191 | 189 to 200 |
The alloy Revolt omits the XS, starting at S. Versus the SL, this sits about 30 mm taller in stack at the same size, the difference between endurance comfort and race position.
Revolt X (suspension gravel)
The Revolt X adds a short travel suspension fork and a dropper, and its head tube is shorter to clear the fork, so it sits a touch lower and longer than the standard endurance Revolt. It is the rowdy adventure option rather than a fit change.
| Frame size | XS | S | M | M/L | L | XL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stack (mm) | 549 | 560 | 576 | 592 | 607 | 621 |
| Reach (mm) | 386 | 387 | 389 | 393 | 399 | 410 |
| Rider height | 152 to 165 | 159 to 171 | 169 to 181 | 174 to 186 | 179 to 191 | 189 to 200 |
What Giant riders find
The endurance Revolt is known to fit tall and long, with a high stack and generous reach for the size, so it suits taller and longer torso riders and is comfortable and upright. Owners often describe the sizing as sitting between sizes, which is exactly why the M/L exists, and many riders around 180 cm land on it happily, sometimes with a slightly longer stem. Between sizes, plenty size down for a sportier reach, or use the M/L. Very tall riders occasionally find the XL stack a touch low for a fully upright position and add spacers. The new Advanced SL is a big change in feel, with the bar around 3 cm lower on a Medium, so it suits riders with a reasonably flexible upper body; its integrated cockpit means the fit should be set at purchase. The flip chip on the endurance Revolt and Revolt X is a low fuss way to trade agility for stability.
Between two sizes?
Reach for the M/L if you are in that band, since it usually is the answer. Otherwise go smaller for a racier, quicker bike or larger for reach and calm, and pick the SL for race position or the standard Revolt for upright comfort. Send us your height and inside leg and we will help you choose.

These sizes are guidance, not a fitting guarantee. The endurance Revolt and Revolt X reach and stack are official Giant data; for the new Revolt Advanced SL only the size M is confirmed and the other sizes are estimates, so verify on Giant's official chart.
