Fantic e-MTB size guide: find your fit by height and reach

Fantic's current e-MTB range is built on the Integra platform, with the down tube battery fully integrated into the frame. The three families to know are the XMF all mountain, the XTF trail and the XEF long travel enduro. The single most important thing to get right is reach relative to your height, because the extra system weight of an e-MTB rewards a balanced, confident cockpit rather than a frame you are stretched over or cramped on. Quick size finder

For e-MTB, sizing down gives a more playful, flickable ride and sizing up gives more high speed stability. The XMF and XEF run in three sizes (S to L), while the XTF adds an XL.

How to measure yourself

Height. Stand against a wall without shoes, feet together, and mark the top of your head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Leg length (inseam). Stand with your back to the wall and place a book spine up between your legs, snug against your body as a saddle would sit. Measure from the top of the book to the floor. This number drives standover clearance and saddle height, which matter more on a heavier e-MTB.

Motor and battery: what to know

Two numbers describe the drive system. Torque, measured in newton metres (Nm), is the push you feel on climbs and from a standstill. More torque helps on steep or loaded rides. Battery capacity, measured in watt hours (Wh), sets how much energy you carry. As a rough guide, a larger Wh figure means more range, but range is never a fixed number.

Real range depends on:

• Rider and cargo weight
• Terrain and total climbing
• Assist level you ride in
• Wind, temperature and tyre pressure

Most current Fantic e-MTBs carry an integrated 720 Wh battery in the down tube, removable through the Rosenberg port for charging on or off the bike. Frame size does not change with battery choice, so pick the size that fits, then plan your rides around the capacity you have.

Range in plain terms. A rough rule of thumb is roughly 1 to 1.5 km per Wh in mixed riding, so a 720 Wh battery covers loosely 700 to 1,000 km of gentle mixed terrain, and far less on steep, heavy assist days. Treat this as a ballpark, not a promise, and confirm against Fantic's official figures for the exact model and motor.

XMF (all mountain)

The versatile do it all Fantic. Long travel comfort with a mixed wheel setup that stays playful in tight, techy terrain.

* Fantic's published per size stack and reach table for the XMF 1.7 currently lists identical figures across every size, which is not physically consistent, so we have not reproduced those numbers here. We are confirming the correct per size geometry with Fantic and will update this guide. Size by height and reach in the meantime, and confirm the exact figures on the bike you are considering.

XTF (trail)

Fantic's middle of the range trail bike. A do everything machine that is composed on descents and easy to place on tech and flow alike.

Geometry (official, size L confirmed)

Size L figures are confirmed from independent measurement (150 mm travel, 1,238 mm wheelbase, 456 mm chainstays, 73 degree seat tube angle, mixed wheels). Per size stack and reach for S, M and XL should be confirmed against Fantic's spec for the exact model, as their published table is currently inconsistent.

Motor and battery

XEF (enduro)

The long travel gravity Fantic. Built to stay calm and planted on steep, rough descents while still climbing under its own power.

Geometry (official, size L confirmed)

Size L figures are confirmed from independent measurement (190 mm travel, 1,281 mm wheelbase, 459 mm chainstays, 64.5 degree head tube angle, 76.5 degree seat tube angle). Per size stack and reach for S and M should be confirmed against Fantic's spec for the exact model.

What Fantic riders find

Fantic frames tend to run true to a modern e-MTB fit, with roomy front centres and long chainstays that keep the bike planted at speed. Owners report the mixed wheel models feel more agile than their travel suggests, so riders between sizes who want a lively feel are usually happy sizing down, while taller riders value the added stability of the larger frame. The low, central battery placement is regularly praised for keeping the weight manageable in corners. Because standover and saddle height matter more on a heavier bike, shorter riders should double check clearance before committing.

Between two sizes?

If you fall between two sizes, favour the smaller frame for a more manoeuvrable, confident feel, since an e-MTB already carries more weight low down. Choose the larger frame if you prioritise stability at speed or on long descents and have the reach for it. When in doubt, match the reach figure to a bike you already ride well.
