Scott Road Bike Size Guide: Find Your Fit by Height and Leg Length

Scott Road Bike Size Guide: Find Your Fit by Height and Leg Length

Scott road sizing, decoded

Scott labels every road frame twice, a letter and a number, so an M is also a 54 and an XL is also a 58. The good news is that all four current road bikes share one height chart, so once you know your Scott size it carries across the range. What changes from model to model is not the size you pick but how the bike positions you, from the aggressive Foil RC and Addict RC to the upright new Addict and the relaxed alloy Speedster. Here is the whole picture.

Have a look at the Scott range at Bikeroom whenever you are ready.

Before the numbers. Scott's height ranges overlap generously, so read the sizes below as a strong starting point rather than a verdict. Your reach, flexibility and riding position decide the rest, and a fit session is the reliable way to lock it in.

One chart, four bikes

Because Scott uses a single road size system, the recommended size is the same across models at a given height. Find yours, confirm with inseam, then choose the model whose character suits you.

Rider height Leg length (inseam) Foil RC Addict RC Addict Speedster
156 to 162 cm 70 to 74 cm XXS 47 XXS 47 XXS 47 XXS 47
158 to 168 cm 72 to 77 cm XS 49 XS 49 XS 49 XS 49
164 to 172 cm 76 to 81 cm S 52 S 52 S 52 S 52
170 to 178 cm 80 to 85 cm M 54 M 54 M 54 M 54
176 to 186 cm 84 to 89 cm L 56 L 56 L 56 L 56
185 to 198 cm 88 to 94 cm XL 58 XL 58 XL 58 XL 58
192 to 200 cm 92 to 98 cm XXL 61 XXL 61 XXL 61 XXL 61

Same size, very different bikes. The Foil RC and Addict RC sit you low, the Addict sits you tall, the Speedster the tallest and easiest of all.

Getting your numbers

Measure height barefoot against a wall to the top of the head. For inseam, slide a book up between your legs against the wall, mimicking the saddle, and measure to the top edge. Multiplying inseam in centimetres by 0.66 gives a ballpark frame size, useful as a cross check but no substitute for comparing stack and reach to a bike you already like.

The current road range

Foil RC (aero race)

The Foil RC is the aero flagship, moderately aggressive rather than extreme, and it steers fast without feeling nervous. Its reach runs a little long for the stack, so a slightly shorter stem is a common tweak. Sizes: XXS 47, XS 49, S 52, M 54, L 56, XL 58 and XXL 61.

Frame size 47 49 52 54 56 58 61
Stack (mm) 505 511 527 548 568 589 606
Reach (mm) 380 388 389 389 394 400 409
Rider height 156 to 162 158 to 168 164 to 172 170 to 178 176 to 186 185 to 198 192 to 200

The integrated Syncros cockpit ships in fixed length and width combinations, so between size riders have limited room to adjust. Scott will swap the cockpit on higher builds if a fit shows you need it.

Addict RC (lightweight race)

The Addict RC is the featherweight race climber, developed with WorldTour pros, and it is the most aggressive fit here: low stack, long reach, direct handling. Its defining quirk is a head tube that jumps around 20 mm between sizes. Sizes: XXS 47, XS 49, S 52, M 54, L 56, XL 58 and XXL 61.

Frame size 47 49 52 54 56 58 61
Stack (mm) 501 512 526 543 564 584 604
Reach (mm) 379 386 392 395 403 406 411
Rider height 156 to 162 158 to 168 164 to 172 170 to 178 176 to 186 185 to 198 192 to 200

Because of that head tube step, sizing up can leave the bars too high to get low. When in doubt on the RC, take the smaller frame and raise it with spacers.

Addict (endurance)

Redesigned for 2026 as a dedicated endurance bike, the Addict sits about 35 mm higher at the front and 20 mm shorter in reach than the Addict RC, with clearance for 38 mm tyres. Riding it with no spacers is roughly like riding the RC with a full stack of them. Sizes: XXS 47, XS 49, S 52, M 54, L 56, XL 58 and XXL 61.

Frame size 47 49 52 54 56 58 61
Stack (mm) 522 534 557 578 599 619 638
Reach (mm) 372 378 382 386 389 394 402
Rider height 156 to 162 158 to 168 164 to 172 170 to 178 176 to 186 185 to 198 192 to 200

Coming off a race bike you may want to keep or lengthen your stem to preserve reach, since the Addict is deliberately short and tall.

Speedster (alloy all round)

The Speedster is the alloy entry into Scott road, with the most relaxed, forgiving geometry of the four, built for sportives, club runs and commuting. Sizes: XXS 47, XS 49, S 52, M 54, L 56, XL 58 and XXL 61.

Frame size 47 49 52 54 56 58 61
Stack (mm) 518 529 552 574 596 614 633
Reach (mm) 376 383 387 390 393 399 406
Rider height 156 to 162 158 to 168 164 to 172 170 to 178 176 to 186 185 to 198 192 to 200

Speedster mid size stack and reach are approximate here, so confirm against Scott's official geometry before you commit if you are between sizes.

Fit notes from Scott riders

On the race bikes, the consistent advice is to size down when you are between two, because a smaller Scott is stiffer, lighter and easier to raise with spacers than a big one is to lower. The Addict RC head tube jump is the reason: go up and you may not be able to get the bars low enough. Proportions matter too, a long torso with short legs favours sizing down onto a longer stem, while long legs with a short torso favour sizing up. The Foil RC reach reads slightly long, so keep a shorter stem in mind, and remember the integrated cockpit limits later changes. The new Addict, by contrast, is praised for a relaxed position that several riders say feels lower in practice than the tall numbers suggest.
