Sizing a Liv gravel bike: the Devote and Devote Advanced
Liv is Giant's dedicated women's brand, and the Devote is built from the ground up as a women's specific gravel bike, with frame proportions, contact points and a saddle shaped around female riders rather than borrowed from a men's frame. The current gravel range is the alloy Devote and the lighter composite Devote Advanced, both offered in four sizes from XS to L and sharing the same frame geometry, so the fit advice below carries across the whole range. The single most useful thing to know is that Liv sizes the Devote around stack and rider height rather than reach: reach barely moves across the sizes (roughly 381 to 391 mm), while stack climbs steadily and the fitted stem grows from 50 mm to 80 mm to tune the cockpit. Choose your size by height first, then let stack confirm it.

Quick size finder
Find your height, cross reference your leg length, then read across to each model. Because the Devote and Devote Advanced share a frame, the recommended size is the same on either bike. As with most gravel bikes, focus on height and stack: a taller stack lets you sit up for long days, while a shorter one drops you lower for speed.

How to measure yourself
Height. Stand barefoot with your back to a wall, heels together and head level. Balance a book flat on your head so its edge touches the wall, mark the wall at the underside of the book, then measure from the floor to the mark.
Leg length (inseam). Barefoot, feet about 15 cm apart, press a book firmly up into your crotch as a saddle would sit. Keep it level against the wall, mark the top edge, and measure from the floor to the mark. This number matters more than height for standover and saddle height.
Devote (alloy)
The alloy Devote is the approachable, do it all end of the range: a tough ALUXX frame with the same relaxed, stable gravel geometry as its composite sibling, a compliant D-Fuse seatpost and bar to take the sting out of rough surfaces, and clearance for wide tyres. It is the natural pick for a first gravel bike or a dependable all rounder for mixed terrain and bikepacking. Available in 4 sizes, XS to L.

Devote Advanced (composite)
The Devote Advanced keeps the same rider position but swaps in an ultralight Advanced grade composite frame and fork for snappier acceleration and a livelier feel, plus a flip chip dropout that lets you shorten the wheelbase for quick handling or lengthen it for stability and bigger tyres. It leans a touch more towards racing and long fast days while staying every bit as comfortable. Available in 4 sizes, XS to L. Figures below are for the standard, shorter flip chip position.

What Liv riders find
Reviewers and owners consistently describe the Devote as one of the most comfortable gravel bikes in its class. The D-Fuse seatpost and handlebar flex to soak up buzz and chatter, and riders report noticeably less fatigue in the wrists and lower back on long, rough days. The moderate flare bars, easy reach shifters and Liv saddle draw praise for suiting smaller hands and a female pelvis, and the handling is described as quick and responsive without ever feeling twitchy. Between two sizes?
Reach changes very little from size to size on the Devote, so the deciding factor is usually stack and standover. If you like a more upright, relaxed position for long adventures, or you are near the lower end of a height band, size up and shorten the stem a little. If you prefer a lower, sportier position or you are toward the top of a band with a shorter torso, size down. When your inseam and height point at different sizes, trust the inseam for standover clearance and let a bike fit fine tune the rest.
