Mondraker Mountain Bike Size Guide: Find Your Fit by Height and Reach

Mondraker Mountain Bike Size Guide: Find Your Fit by Height and Reach

The Forward Geometry story, and why it changes your size

You cannot size a Mondraker sensibly without understanding Forward Geometry, the idea the brand pioneered in 2013: a much longer reach paired with a very short stem, typically 30 to 50 mm. The long front centre adds descending stability while the stubby stem keeps steering direct and stops the cockpit feeling stretched. The practical upshot is simple but important: a Mondraker reach reads long, and most riders end up on one letter smaller than they would choose from Trek, Specialized or Giant. Do not carry your usual size across. Use Mondraker's height chart, expect the reach number to look big, and keep the short stem the bike comes with.

Keep in mind. These sizes are a starting point, not a promise, and Mondraker's long reach makes a test ride especially worthwhile. Reach preference and riding style shift the answer, and a fit is the final word.

Your Mondraker size by height

Mondraker publishes one master chart across the range. Find your height for the baseline size; the model tables then give the reach. The five size models, the Crafty and Level, add an ML that bridges the Medium to Large gap.

Rider height Mondraker size
165 to 175 cm S
175 to 180 cm M
176 to 183 cm ML (Crafty and Level only)
180 to 190 cm L
190 cm and up XL

Because the reach runs long, riders near a boundary usually take the smaller letter for a nimbler bike; only size up if you specifically want maximum high speed stability.

How to choose your size

Take your height barefoot, then read the reach, remembering it will look longer than rival brands by design. Do not compare the size letter across brands, compare the reach. Keep the short stem the bike ships with, since swapping to a long stem undoes the intended handling. Shorter riders should also check standover and dropper insertion, especially on alloy frames.

Cross country

The Podium is the ultralight XC hardtail, stretched and race fast, and the F-Podium its full suspension marathon sibling, both unusually long and stable for XC.

Reach (mm) S M L XL
Podium 390 444 470 510
F-Podium 430 455 480 505

Trail and all mountain

The Raze is the light trail bike with enduro length reach, the Foxy the Forward Geometry icon and long low descender, and the Superfoxy the big travel enduro plough. Reach below is the standard setting; flip chips shift it a few millimetres.

Reach (mm) S M L XL
Raze 455 475 495 515
Foxy 450 470 490 510
Superfoxy 450 470 490 510

Electric

The Neat is the light, TQ powered e-trail bike that rides naturally, the Dune the light Bosch SX e-enduro, and the Crafty and Level the full power Bosch enduro machines, both offered in five sizes with an ML in the middle. Reach on the Level is approximate and worth confirming on the exact bike.

Reach (mm) S M ML L XL
Neat 450 470 495 515
Dune 445 465 485 505
Crafty 450 470 480 490 510
Level 460 480 490 500 520

What Mondraker riders find

The universal note is that the reach feels big, and that is intentional. Owners repeatedly say a Medium Mondraker matches a Large from a mainstream brand, so trust the height chart rather than the letter. The short stem is core to the handling, so keep it. Reviewers describe a brief adjustment period before the long, forward stance clicks, after which the stability wins people over. General advice is to size down for tight, twisty trails and up for fast, open terrain, and the newer five size Crafty and Level, with their ML option and size specific chainstays, finally solve the in between fit that used to catch riders out. On the Superfoxy, note the fairly slack seat angle makes seated climbing less comfortable, a character trade for its descending strength.

Between two sizes?

Given how long Mondraker rides, the smaller letter is usually the safer, more playful choice, with the ML on the Crafty and Level a neat middle ground. Size up only for maximum stability. Tell us your height and inside leg and we will find the right size and confirm standover.

New to Forward Geometry? Ask our concierge

Mondraker's long reach trips up almost everyone the first time. Send our concierge team your height, inside leg and the reach of a bike you like, and we will translate it into the right Mondraker size. Talk to our concierge.

These recommendations are good faith guidance, not a fitting guarantee. Reach figures follow Mondraker's consistent ladder and are high confidence for the Foxy, Neat, Dune and Crafty; some S and XL figures are interpolated and the Level reach should be verified on the exact bike. Geometry can change between model years, so always confirm before buying.
