Focus Gravel Size Guide: the Atlas

Focus Gravel Size Guide: the Atlas

Focus gravel sizing: the Atlas

Focus keeps its gravel range refreshingly simple. Everything centres on one platform, the Atlas, shared across the alloy 6 series and the carbon 8 series builds. That means the fit is the same whichever build you choose, so you can pick your size once and then decide on spec and budget separately. The Atlas is sized XS to XL, and for 2026 Focus revised the geometry to be a little more agile, with a shorter wheelbase and a slightly lower front end. Start with your height, then confirm against the reach. See what is available on our Focus collection.

Please note. The guidance here is indicative and a starting point, not a guarantee of fit. Two riders of the same height can need different sizes depending on leg and torso length, flexibility and riding style, so use the height and inseam bands as a guide and always confirm against the exact bike.

Quick size finder

Rider height Leg length (inseam) Atlas
152 to 161 cm 68 to 73 cm XS
161 to 170 cm 73 to 78 cm S
170 to 178 cm 78 to 83 cm M
178 to 187 cm 83 to 88 cm L
187 to 195 cm 88 to 93 cm XL

How to measure yourself

Height. Stand barefoot with your back to a wall, heels together, and mark the top of your head. Measure straight down to the floor for an accurate figure.

Leg length (inseam). Barefoot, with feet about 15 cm apart, lift a hardback book spine up firmly between your legs as a saddle would sit. Measure from the top of the book to the floor. Inseam is the number that governs standover clearance and saddle height, so measure it carefully.

Focus Atlas

The Atlas is a versatile adventure and bikepacking gravel bike, comfortable over long distances yet sharper to handle since the 2026 update. Wide tyre clearance and plenty of mounts make it a genuine go anywhere machine, and the carbon builds add frame storage in the down tube.

Size Stack (mm) Reach (mm) Rider height
XS 546 375 152 to 161 cm
S 557 390 161 to 170 cm
M 576 395 170 to 178 cm
L 595 405 178 to 187 cm
XL 623 420 187 to 195 cm

Fit character: comfortable and stable, with a sharper edge for 2026.

What Focus riders find

Reviewers of the 2026 Atlas single out how much more agile it feels than the outgoing bike, thanks to the shorter wheelbase and closer handlebar position, while keeping the composed, confidence inspiring ride that made the previous version a bikepacking favourite. Owners rate the value highly across the range and appreciate the practical touches, from generous tyre clearance to the mounts and down tube storage that make loaded adventures easy.

Between two sizes?

If your height and inseam sit on a boundary, let your riding style decide. Choose the smaller size for a nimbler, more planted feel and if you like a lower front end. Choose the larger size for extra reach and a taller stack on long, comfortable days in the saddle. The most reliable check is to compare the Atlas stack and reach with a bike you already ride and know fits.

Between two sizes, or choosing between an alloy and a carbon Atlas? We are glad to help you get it right. Talk to our concierge.

Stack and reach figures are taken from official Focus data for the current Atlas where possible. Rider height and inseam bands are indicative estimates rather than official Focus numbers, with the XS band in particular estimated, and should be treated as a starting point. Always confirm geometry against the exact bike and model year before buying.
