Basso Bikes is an Italian brand with a deep-rooted passion for racing, founded in 1977 by Alcide Basso, brother of World Champion Marino Basso. From its headquarters in San Zenone degli Ezzelini and production facilities in Vicenza, the brand has continuously pushed the boundaries of innovation.

Its history is intertwined with cycling legend Eddy Merckx, who visited the factory while developing his own bike brand. Basso was among the pioneers in material innovation, introducing advanced rust-resistant steel before moving on to carbon fiber. Their first carbon frame was even studied at the University of Graz to analyze its torsional and bending forces.

By the early '90s, Basso bikes were already competing at the highest levels, ridden by champions like Dimitri Konyshev, Gilberto Simoni, Massimo Strazzer, and Endrio Leoni.
