Orbea gravel size guide: sizing the Terra by height and reach

Orbea gravel size guide: sizing the Terra by height and reach

Orbea gravel size guide: sizing the Terra by height and reach

Orbea's gravel range centres on the Terra, offered from lightweight alloy builds through to the carbon Terra and the top tier Terra Race OMX. Whichever build you choose, the frame geometry is shared, so sizing comes down to one thing above all: getting your reach right for a relaxed yet efficient endurance position. The Terra runs an unusually wide six size range, which makes a genuinely tailored fit realistic for most riders. Browse the full lineup in the Orbea collection.

Please note. These recommendations are indicative, not a guarantee of fit. Body proportions, flexibility and riding style all matter, and gravel riders often tune fit with stem length and bar choice. Treat the table below as a starting point and confirm against the exact bike.

Quick size finder

Rider height Leg length (inseam) Terra size
160 to 167 cm 72 to 77 cm XS
167 to 173 cm 76 to 81 cm S
173 to 179 cm 80 to 85 cm M
179 to 185 cm 84 to 89 cm L
185 to 191 cm 88 to 93 cm XL
191 to 198 cm 92 to 97 cm XXL

Where two sizes overlap, use reach to decide: a longer reach stretches you out for stability and speed, a shorter reach sits you more upright for control and all day comfort.

How to measure yourself

Height. Stand against a wall without shoes, feet together, and mark the top of your head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Leg length (inseam). Stand with your back to the wall and place a book spine up between your legs, snug against your body as a saddle would sit. Measure from the top of the book to the floor. This number sets your standover clearance and saddle height.

Orbea Terra

A do it all endurance gravel bike: comfortable and composed over long, mixed surface days, yet quick enough to race. Size-specific fork offsets keep the handling consistent across the whole range.

Geometry (official)

Size Stack (mm) Reach (mm) Rider height
XS 535 386 160 to 167 cm
S 558 392 167 to 173 cm
M 580 400 173 to 179 cm
L 602 406 179 to 185 cm
XL 625 412 185 to 191 cm
XXL 645 417 191 to 198 cm

Stack and reach figures are Orbea's official geometry for the current Terra. Rider height ranges are our indicative guidance based on that geometry.

What Orbea riders find

The current Terra is a little longer in reach and taller in stack than the previous generation, which puts most riders in a slightly more relaxed, endurance oriented position without feeling sluggish. Owners consistently note that the six size spread makes it easy to land on a frame that fits rather than compromising, and the size tuned fork keeps the steering feeling the same whether you are on the XS or the XXL. Riders coming from a race road bike often find the Terra usefully more upright, while those who want to slam the front end still have room to do so with spacer and stem changes.

Between two sizes?

If you fall between two sizes, choose the smaller frame for a more upright, manoeuvrable feel that suits technical and long day gravel, or the larger frame if you want more reach and high speed stability and have the flexibility for it. When in doubt, match the reach figure to a drop bar bike you already ride comfortably, since reach is the number you feel most on gravel.
