Liv Road Bike Size Guide: Find Your Fit by Height and Leg Length

Liv Road Bike Size Guide: Find Your Fit by Height and Leg Length

Sizing a Liv road bike

Liv is Giant's women's brand, and its road bikes are designed around a women's specific fit that runs shorter in reach and top tube than a unisex frame. The range covers three characters: the racy Langma all rounder, the comfort focused Avail endurance bike, and the aggressive aero EnviLiv. Because the fit runs short, riders coming from a Giant usually keep the same letter size rather than sizing up. Pick the model first, then size by height and reach.

Please note. These sizes are a starting point, not a guarantee. Liv's height bands overlap, so inseam, flexibility and how upright you want to sit shift the choice. A fit check settles any doubt.

Quick size finder

Find your height, cross check your inside leg, and read across. The Langma and Avail run XXS to L; the aero EnviLiv runs XS to L.

Rider height Leg length (inseam) Langma (race) Avail (endurance) EnviLiv (aero)
145 to 152 cm 66 to 72 cm XXS XXS
152 to 160 cm 71 to 76 cm XS XS XS
158 to 166 cm 75 to 80 cm S S S
164 to 174 cm 79 to 84 cm M M M
170 to 184 cm 83 to 90 cm L L L

Only the Langma and Avail offer the XXS for the shortest riders. Between sizes, go smaller for quicker, lower handling or larger for more reach and long ride comfort.

How to measure yourself

Height. Stand barefoot against a wall, heels together, and measure to the top of your head.

Leg length (inseam). Barefoot, feet about 15 cm apart, press a book up to the wall like a saddle and measure floor to spine.

Then use reach. Liv's fit runs short, so if you are switching from a Giant or unisex bike, compare reach and keep the same letter rather than sizing up.

Langma (race all rounder)

The Langma is the racy but forgiving all rounder, with a low stack and short reach that climbs and sprints eagerly without feeling stretched out. Available in 5 sizes: XXS to L.

Frame size XXS XS S M L
Stack (mm) 499 517 532 553 572
Reach (mm) 364 370 377 382 386
Rider height 145 to 160 152 to 166 158 to 172 164 to 178 170 to 184

Avail (endurance)

The Avail is the comfort focused endurance bike, taller in stack than the Langma for an upright, all day position, with a D-Fuse bar and seatpost for compliance. Note that XS, S and M share the same reach, so you effectively size it by stack and standover rather than reach. Available in 5 sizes: XXS to L.

Frame size XXS XS S M L
Stack (mm) 510 528 547 566 589
Reach (mm) 363 373 373 373 381
Rider height 145 to 156 153 to 162 158 to 169 165 to 174 171 to 182

Because the XS, S and M reach is identical at 373 mm, choose among them by stack height and standover, and by the stem length Liv fits, rather than reach.

EnviLiv (aero race)

The EnviLiv is the aero racer, the sportiest of the three with the longest reach per size and a genuinely low, aggressive position. It ships with headset spacers so you can raise it, but it rewards riders happy in an aero tuck. Available in 4 sizes: XS to L.

Frame size XS S M L
Stack (mm) 512 527 548 567
Reach (mm) 373 378 383 392
Rider height 152 to 166 158 to 172 164 to 178 170 to 184

What Liv riders find

The recurring theme is that Liv's women's specific fit runs short in reach and top tube versus unisex frames, so riders cross shopping from a Giant should keep the same letter size rather than sizing up. Sizing is otherwise reported as true to chart, with Liv's online fit calculator landing many riders correctly first time. The Avail is comfortable over long days but can feel a touch more stretched than expected, so a test ride or spacers help if maximum upright comfort is the goal, and because its XS to M share one reach you pick among them by stack and standover. The EnviLiv is the aggressive one and rewards flexible riders, while between any two sizes the rule is smaller for quicker handling, larger for reach and comfort.

Between two sizes?

Go smaller for a lower, quicker bike or larger for reach and all day comfort, and check inseam against the chart before ordering. On the Avail, decide by stack and standover since reach holds steady. Send us your height, inside leg and current reach and we will confirm.

Not sure which Liv? Ask our concierge

Liv's women's specific fit runs short, so matching reach is the smart move. Share your height, inside leg and the reach of your current bike and our concierge team will recommend the model and size. Talk to our concierge.

These sizes are guidance, not a fitting guarantee. Stack and reach are official Liv data, read from the current geometry tables; note the Avail shares one reach across XS to M. Rider height ranges follow Liv's charts and overlap, so confirm against the specific bike you are buying.
