Santa Cruz Bicycles was founded in 1994 in a space the size of a one-car garage in Seabright Cannery in Santa Cruz, California. The first bike, the Tazmon, was a single-pivot dual suspension bike that immediately shook up the market. At the time, full-suspension bikes were a long way off, and an 'all-rounder' (what we would now call a 'trail' or 'all-mountain' bike) with rear suspension was considered irregular. But Santa Cruz founder, skateboard legend Rob Roskopp, wasn't bound to follow trends or be told what to do, and realized that full suspension was an innovation whose time had come. And ever since then Santa Cruz has been trying to build bikes that allow riders to go further, faster and higher, for longer. Today Santa Cruz produces a wide range of high performance bikes for the true cycling enthusiast. Made of carbon fibre or aluminium, from hardtails to downhill beasts with 8.5" of travel. The carbon bikes are produced in an exclusive production facility and use advanced VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) technology on all fully featured models. The bikes are available with a wide range of component and suspension options to choose from, each hand-assembled to order in California. All Santa Cruz frames come with a lifetime warranty and each bike is a treasure trove of technology with one goal: to create the best bikes in the world.
